1.    1.   ‘Lawyers will urge divorce by consent’. This is an example of social reform, showing that the law commission is recommending divorce by consent that made it easier for people, mostly women to get a divorce. This shows women equality to be respected more and that it is not just men that control the relationship and women should have a say.

2.. ‘We’re very happy’- This shows and reflects a male-controlled context in which women are most often defined in terms of their relationship with men and also shows that the male is talking for the women and she doesn’t have her own opinion.

    q.1 NO Not really about the representation of women. Pick (say) the lingerie advert which shows that newspapers believed that this was the extent of women's interest - rather than in hard news
    q.2 Yes in that Jackie Kennedy is only depicted as she was the widow of a famous man
    q.3 yes
    q.4 NO - identify the disaster
    q.5 No - Vietnam is not in Europe
